Fishing in Ubaye
Fario trout and rainbow trout are among the best-known river fish species, but in Ubaye they cohabit with a host of other salmonids.
Here you’ll find the hard-to-catch cristivomer, also known as lake trout, brook salmon, speckled trout, Arctic char, a cold-water fish with a mottled grey skin, and grayling, recognizable by its narrow head and black spots.
Coregones, pike-perch and minnows are other fish you’ll find in the Ubaye, along with various white fish and crayfish.
