The weather is particularly pleasant from May to September, when temperatures are mild and sunshine is at its peak (between 10 and 15 hours a day in June and July). However, some periods are more favorable than others, and September, October and November can be prone to precipitation, although rain is very rare.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3c1477425e225100cddc6ca047ce219c\"><strong>Barcelonnette<\/strong> is not a very windy town either, with a light breeze blowing at around 7 km\/h maximum. Average temperatures range from -3\u00b0C in December to 28\u00b0C at the height of summer in July. The summer season, July-August, is the ideal time to go on vacation and take part in water sports such as rafting to cool off, <strong>visit Barcelonnette&#8217;s surroundings<\/strong> and discover the city&#8217;s and region&#8217;s markets, which offer fresh, local produce.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-71fbcb81b183bcacf9bd6722f9471184\">Take advantage of the mild but not too hot temperatures, which reach around twenty degrees from May to June, and then in September-October, for some great hiking or biking. With an average altitude of almost 1107 meters, this charming mountain commune near the Italian border covers an area of around 17 km\u00b2. It currently has a population of just over 2,560, with around 150 inhabitants per square kilometer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to <strong>visiting the Barcelonnette area<\/strong>, you&#8217;re spoilt for choice. The nearest towns, less than 10 km away, are Saint-Pons, Faucon-de-Barcelonnette, Uvernet-Fours et Enchastrayes, Jausiers, Condamine-Ch\u00e2telard and Thuiles.
